Pakistan court strikes down appointment of ex-army officer as telecom regulator chief

The Islamabad High Court nullified the appointment of retired Major General Hafeezur Rehman as chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), deeming the selection process illegal. The court highlighted flaws in the creation of the Member (Administration) post and the subsequent appointment of Rehman as chairman.
