Pakistan violates international border, LoC ceasefire for eighth night; Indian forces retaliate

The recent terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 has delayed the bypolls for Budgam and Nagrota assembly seats in Jammu & Kashmir, missing the April-end deadline mandated by election law. The Election Commission of India had planned to club these bypolls with others in May, citing procedural reasons, and had informed the law ministry.
