Govt awards Padma Bhushan to Dalai Lama's ally Togdan Rinpoche

Kagyupa is now headed by Drikung Chetsang Rinpoche with his seat in exile in Dehradun and is a relative of Dalai Lama. The move is seen as a recognition of the sect by the Centre, said officials. Togdan was instrumental in preserving the Bhoti (Tibetan) language, they added.
