PM Narendra Modi likely to focus on territorial integrity, freedom of navigation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address the issue of safeguarding territorial integrity and freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific region during his visit to Jakarta for the Asean Summit and East Asia Summit. This comes after several Southeast Asian nations, including Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia, protested China's new map which focuses on the South China Sea region. Modi is also expected to highlight India's commitment to freedom of navigation in the South China Sea and its agenda for the global south.
