Privileges panel recommends revocation of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury's LS suspension

The Lok Sabha privileges committee has recommended the immediate revocation of Congress floor leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury's suspension. Chowdhury appeared before the committee and clarified that his intention was not to hurt anyone. The committee's resolution stated that in view of his expression of regret, the Speaker may discontinue his suspension. Despite some opposition MPs claiming that Chowdhury did not express regret, the majority of members agreed that his statement amounted to regret. The committee also noted that Chowdhury's actions during the prime minister's speech constituted a clear case of contempt.
