Centre forms committee to prepare food safety norms, protect users from unhealthy food items

The committee, headed by an additional secretary in the department of consumer affairs, has been asked to submit its report within six weeks, the memo said, adding that it will examine and identify gaps or inadequacies within the current regulatory framework that contribute to the proliferation of unhealthy food products.
