Child Rights Body Includes 'News Media' in Draft Guidelines

NCPCR has cited more accountability on social media as well as video streaming platforms to prevent the abuse of children. "Since the last guidelines were issued in 2011, there have been many changes, particularly amendments to the Juvenile Justice Act, child labour laws, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021," NCPCR chairman Priyank Kanoongo told ET. "The guidelines have been changed incorporating the new laws."
