First order for indigenous air to air missiles placed

Developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Astra MK1 out ranges the current set of Russian origin air to air missiles being used by the air force that were found wanting during an aerial faceoff in the aftermath of the Balakot air strikes in 2019.
